Significant facility expansion for Bowers Group of Companies, exactly 30 years after moving to the Heanor works!

Bowers Electricals are pleased to announce, due to sustained business growth, the further expansion of their production and manufacturing facilities at their Heanor site having acquired three addition production units.

The new 1,200m2 facility sits adjacent to the Bowers Electricals Heanor Headquarters’ existing yard and warehouse facilities. Adding over 900m2 of light industrial working and storage area, and 230m2 of office facilities with direct access to the already substantial 6,042m2 site and facilities.

Talking about the facility expansion the Bowers Group CEO Michael Bowers stated:

“This is a substantial investment focussed on meeting the needs of our customers. By Increasing our stock levels of Distribution Transformers, HV & LV switchgear, as well as motor products we can offer improved lead times to our expanding customer base. I see this as a tremendous opportunity for Bowers in terms of delivering its current growth strategy. We will also be relocating our HV contracting division E.P.E.S. into the new facility to allow closer integration between the two businesses”.

Bowers Electricals moved to their Heanor site in early 1994 and is celebrating 30 successful years at this facility. Over the years we have seen many changes associated with the development of our transformer and switchgear offer, the growth of the motor and rewind business and the development of a comprehensive service and maintenance business. To achieve this, we have taken on more staff and are now the new facility expansion to meet the needs of our growing customer base.

The Development of the Bowers Facility:

1994 – Bowers moves to a new larger premises in Heanor, Derbyshire. It allowed, for the first time, for all the manufacturing, development, and testing facilities to be all under one roof.

1996 – “New” Bay was added, this provided ample storage for switchgear and motors.

2012 – A larger main office was added. This allowed the demolishment of the existing office block and a new larger car park replacing it.

2014 – The Motors office, small main office addition & Stores extension were added.

2023 – Solar Panels were added to the “New” Bay.

2024 – New adjacent facilities acquired.

This is an exciting development for the Bowers Group and wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of all our staff, and management team.

This expansion allows us to support our customers’ needs more than ever before, with more space for supply of new, used, or refurbished transformers, switchgear, and motors. As well as allowing for the continued expansion of our service and maintenance team, production and manufacturing team, and supporting staff.
