After the excitement of Emex, the energy management exhibition at London’s Excel, Bowers Electricals has been honoured as an International Green World Ambassador at a prestigious ceremony at the House of Commons.
We are delighted to have earned the recognition for our Powering a Greener Britain project to develop the Bowers Intellivolt – a transformer range that utilises fourth generation voltage optimisation to double the environmental benefits of its counterparts. This same design has also won us a Gold ‘Green Apple’ award for environmental best practice in the Green Organisation’s annual awards.
As a result of that success, Bowers Electricals will now feature in The Green Book – an annual work of reference about reducing energy consumption and wastage which will be distributed to environment professionals, universities and libraries around the world.
The award judges comment: “Bowers teamed up with iVolt, previous Green Apple winners, and have created a range of cutting edge transformers that – if adopted across Europe – could save up to 3.7 million tons of CO2. They are world leaders in efficient transformers, with their products already saving the equivalent of 520 cars’ worth of CO2e per year.”
Our MD Michael Bowers adds: “Every product produced by Bowers has been designed by our in-house engineers with energy efficiency in mind. From our Ecodesign units and our sophisticated Eco BEST range, to the pioneering Bowers Intellivolt which incorporates fourth generation voltage optimisation technology, we believe our transformers are among the most environmentally-friendly in the world today. Winning this accolade is a huge pat on the back to the team and we’re thrilled.”
Bowers Electricals is now in the running to represent the UK in the Brussels-led European Business Awards for the Environment.
